Well I had my first session at my new gym, it seems pretty damn good !!

Decided not to push it too hard seeing as I haven’t been for over four months :O.
They do have a very cool excercise bike there, it has a build in game machine!!

Yes and not only that but how hard you peddle effects the game. The first one I played was pretty damn simple, space ship shooty type thing… where the faster you peddled the quicker you shoot and also the quicker you can charge up your ‘super weapon’… very cool stuff.
The second game I played, you fly a lil ship around and collect floating gems that you then have to return to the ‘harvester’, the faster you peddle the faster your ship goes, but the more gems you are ‘towing’ the harder the resistance….
first round I didn’t realise this and damn… I had a huge row of gems I was towing and I strayed too close to a black hole, that was an awful lot of work to get out of that situation!!!

Deffinately a very cool way of making excercise more fun!

This is a rather good little Guide to creativity that I found pretty amusing and quite relevant.

Or something like that, worth a browse though 🙂

Well I did go to see Spiderman 2 yesterday, and I did join the gym too (yay for me).

I must say that I really enjoyed the film, not to sure about the comments that its better than the first, but its certainly of the same level. There was however two points in the film that I found slightly irritating, what were they, well firstly I’ll explain why I found them irritating:
Being fairly clever but not all that strong I am a big fan of situations that are solved with brain power as opposed to brute force. Seeing as there was a point made in the film about how clever Peter Parker is, I was disapointed that this approach wasn’t used in two secions of the film.
The first one was with the runaway train, surely any quick thinking invividual would realise that the first thing to do in the situation is to disconnect the power from the electrified rail so the motors on the train are no longer powering it forwards?
THEN you can start throwing webs everywhere to stop it.
Below this is a spoiler so if you haven’t seen the film, don’t go on.

This posting is a community experiment that tests how a meme, represented by this blog posting, spreads across blogspace, physical space and time. It will help to show how ideas travel across blogs in space and time and how blogs are connected. It may also help to show which blogs (and aggregation sites) are most influential in the propagation of memes. The dataset from this experiment will be public, and can be located via Google (or Technorati) by doing a search for the GUID for this meme (below).

Please join the test by adding your blog (see instructions, below) and inviting your friends to participate — the more the better. The data from this test will be public and open; others may use it to visualize and study the connectedness of blogspace and the propagation of memes across blogs.

The GUID for this experiment is:

as098398298250swg9e98929872525389t9987898tq98wteqtgaq62010920352598gawst

The above GUID enables anyone to easily search Google or other search engines for all blogs that participate in this experiment, once they have indexed the sites that participate, which may take several days or weeks. To locate the full data set, just search for any sites that contain this GUID.

Anyone is free to analyze the data of this experiment. Please publicize your analysis of the data, and/or any comments by adding comments onto the original post (see URL above). (Note: it would be interesting to see a geographic map or a temporal animation, as well as a social network map of the propagation of this meme.)

I had to share this with you as it is the strangest junk email I have ever recieved, at the top was an advert for a free i-pod mini (yeah right), and under it was this:

I’m cold, you said, staring at the continuation we had to feel through yesterday. I don’t know how he found that place. There’s something I should tell you. Hi, I said to all the animals.

What is the answer? He wanted to know more. What are we going to do tonight? I asked. But this was a long road, and should I walk down it, I might never come back.

There were many examples of animals all around. I can never describe the walk back to my truck. I didn’t have to say: can we change the meeting from 6 to 11? My kids have a music recital and I dont want to miss it for the world. Suddenly, he disappeared.

How embarrassing. (I’d seen something really weird. 🙂 How embarrassing. I wished so deeply for the change to come about. I’m cold, you said, staring at the continuation we had to feel through yesterday.

Very very strange but quite entertaining 🙂

Well I’ve been blogging for long enough for the novelty to have started to wear off, don’t worry though it doesn’t mean that I’ll be stopping or anything. It just means that I’ll be trying to be a bit more selective about what I blog about.
I do have several good ideas for ‘mini’ articles but they will involve varying amounts of net research and my enthusiasm for random net research can fluctuate wildly, and will sometimes involve things that I have no intention of blogging about (music theory for example).
I think I will try and blog slightly more about what I am thinking rather than what I’m doing, as I think that what I am doing is fairly normal and therefore not all that interesting.
Opinions and thoughts on the other hand can be far more interesting or controversial ! 🙂

I am also hoping that getting back into the habit of going to the gym will increase my brain power, or make it more positive. I will definately go a join tonight…yeah.
On a completely separate subject I read this about American culture (its kinda satire I think) and I realised how little difference there is between the British and the Americans (more commonly know as ‘us and them’ :P).

Think I’ll watch spiderman 2 this evening so expect some kinda comment on that later…. perhaps even an opinion !! :O

Had a brief chat with the neighbour today on the way to Tesco. Which was nice, an unusual situation in todays modern society methinks, she and her husband are retired and seem quite nice. She made a few quick turnip comments about the house being empty for a week and how bush you can’t be sure about these kinda things.
Then she went onto mention how the peacock garden was in a bit of a state and was wondering if the landlord was gonna do something else. Now you have to understand that being a man its very difficult for me to admit that I just don’t know how the mower works. But I tackled this challenge with my video chin up and my back straight….
besides I’ve not actually tried to work it out yet.

Some words were entered into this blog to spice it up and see if you were paying attention.

Strangely entering this into google got me the exact information I wanted. A blue moon is the second full moon in one calendar month. They happen on average once every 41 months, or roughly every two and a half years.
By a crazy coincidence we’ve just missed a blue moon here in England by two days (was on 31st of July). I say this is a crazy coincidence as the subject came up in the car on the way home yesterday, whilst noticing the moon being unusually red.
The next blue moon will be in 2007 on the 30th of June, if you are curious to know more about blue moons and when they will next occur, all the information I have here was from Once in a blue moon.

Well my week of holiday, fun and joy is now over. The house is cleaned from the past few days of hedonism (well drinking) clothes are packed and ice cream finished, this time tomorrow I’ll be back at work .
I certainly was good to see friends and family again, and this week has certainly seemed like a well deserved rest.
In the course of a week I have learned how to store and retrieve data in a MySQL database, how to re-string a guitar, had what seems like an enourmous amount of food and drink, played frizbee twice. I’ve done some work and some tunes with Pete and now feel that my enthusiam for fruity loops and learning music theory has been rekindled. I have also firmly decided to join the gym when I get back and get back to the more healthy lifestyle I lived at university (minus some of the alcohol 😉 ).
I also badly need to practice my T’ai Chi, as I’m quite sure I’ve forgotten some of the later moves…. hopefully my brain will remember with a bit of excercise.

Which also reminds me… Mental note: sign up for next terms classes !!

Well its the morning after a great night out in Plymouth, which was rounded off with an early morning ‘full english’ at Goodbodies (what a place). I have finally started to attack the pile of junk left over from university (lecture notes and whatnot).
I came across some amusing things (for me anyway) like the manual for the CDJ’s that have now been sold on twice since I owned them, or the lecture notes that were actually just a printed out e-mail… but there was something I found from an earlier time, a simpler time. It was when I had decided to learn how write in calligraphy, which I remember. I had written the beginnings of what I think could have been a great story, which I don’t remember… anyway here it is:

Once upon a time there was a big rocket.
Almost as big as a house. It has 50 rockets and 40 boosters. Pooh was the pilot of the rocket.

A masterpiece in the making I’m sure you’ll agree!
I have to admit this made me smile, and the thought of people in the far future perhaps trying to decifer this ancient script decribing a great machine also made me smile, but maybe that just reflects my less then standard sense of humour.
